This easy yet wonderfully varied day trip reveals the quieter, more intimate side of Lake Skadar and the surrounding mountains. The ride begins in Virpazar and follows quiet backroads and forest lanes through the young limestone hills that cradle the lake. Most of the route is on smooth asphalt with only a section on forest trails, and traffic is almost nonexistent – just birdsong and the whisper of your tires on the road.

Along the way, the landscape feels timeless and dense walnut and oak woods provide a bit of shade. Bring your bathing suits and a towel as we will point out a hidden rock pool close to the track, a perfect spot for a refreshing swim. Your destination is the charming riverside village of Rijeka Crnojevića, where cafés line the old stone bridge and time seems to pause. From here, you and your bikes board a private boat for the return to Virpazar. You leisurely cruise along the emerald river and will find yourselves accompanied by kingfishers, herons and wild ducks.
