This circular 55-kilometre route begins and ends in Virpazar, winding through the limestone hills and quiet backroads that define the wild heart of Lake Skadar National Park. The first stretch follows the gentle contours of the lake’s shoreline, passing through small, time-worn villages and shaded forests where life moves at its own pace. A short detour leads to one of the journey’s highlights — a secluded forest gorge where clear water collects in emerald rock pools. It’s the perfect place for a refreshing dip before continuing toward Rijeka Crnojevića, a historic riverside town famed for its stone bridge and sleepy charm.
After a well-deserved pause on a sunny terrace, the route returns to Virpazar via a different road, completing a true loop through Montenegro’s lake country. Expect narrow asphalt roads that barely see any traffic, a few forest paths, and endless views — the essence of Skadar, captured in one perfect ride.
